The Global Gang are a team of volunteers who work tirelessly throughout the academic year to raise awareness about issues, events and celebrations from around the world. Our Global Gang members had to experience a rigourous application process that required them to evidence how they either display or are beginning to display the skills that are required as part of the role – including collaborating within small groups, speaking aloud in front of small audiences and by being able to contribute ideas.
This year, the Y5 representatives of our Global Gang met with our local MP Clive Betts to discuss the matter of Fairtrade. As a result of their amazing presentation, Mr Betts agreed to sign the Fairtrade – Be The Change Pledge and promised to support the Fairtrade movement in any way he can in Parliament. As a result of this, Clive promised the children that he will now be writing to the Cabinet Minister for Trade on their behalf to question what we are currently doing to support Fairtrade as a country and our children are eagerly awaiting his response.
